The generally accepted date of foundation of Murmansk is October 4, 1916. Before the construction of the first barracks and wooden wharfs the history of this region was associated with the name of the old coast-dweller Semen Korzhnev (Coast-dwellers were the descendants of Russian inhabitants digested the coast of the White Sea since the 12th century). Little did Semen Korzhnev dream of going into history, but residents of Murmansk immortalized him by naming local harbor, shoal and lake after him.

The second stage of the history of Murmansk began in the years of socialism. The city's rapid growth was unparalleled even at the time of great accomplishments achieved by the overtoil of Russian people.
Murmansk faced its severest trials during the Second World War between 1941 and 1945. Every corner here is a living testament to the courage incised in memorials and monuments.

Today it staggers belief that the city was wracked. There is no any trace of war in Murmansk. Today the newly built-up city does no longer fit into the broad space on the Kola Bay. Streets climb up the hills, and today there are already about 260 streets in Murmansk. The city's population is 387,4 thousand. And today this regional center is the biggest transpolar city in the world.

With years Murmansk became the main base for the industrial fishing. There are three theaters and four cinemas in Murmansk. The museum of local history presents the flora and fauna of the Polar Region as well the brief history of the Kola Peninsula from the 12th century to the present days. By one of the museum's walls we can see the anchor of the grand-father of the Russian icebreaking fleet – the famous ‘Ermak’.

Historical dates:

In 1916 the city of Romanov-on-Murman was laid down on the central hill of the new settlement.

On December 5, 1933 the icebreaker ‘Cheluskin’ leaved the port of Murmansk for the first time.

In 1962 for the first time in the naval forces' history the first soviet submarine ‘Ê-3’ ‘Leninski Komsomol’ sailed under the Arctic ice and broke surface in the North Pole Region.

In 1966 for the first time in the Russian naval forces' history the squadron of nuclear-powered submarines accomplished the around-the-world expedition without surfacing.

The main principle of our work is quality and reliability of cargo forwarding.
