The official date of the foundation of Arkhangelsk is March 4, 1583. In the 12th century on the place of the present-day city of Arkhangelsk the citizens of Novgorod founded the Mikhailo-Arkhangelsky Monastery, to which a settlement and a landing-stage were adjacent. In 1419 the monastery was devastated by the Swedes, in 1636 it was burnt down and after that was rebuilt on another place..

In the 17th century the town entered in its golden age because of the development of the trade with England and other countries of Western Europe. The trade relations were carried out by the putting of sea-going ships in the White See.
In 1620s a foreign colony was founded in Arkhangelsk.

Under Peter the Great Arkhangelsk contributed a lot to the development of the Russian Navy. In 1693 the Admiralty was established by Peter the Great, and the Shipyard was laid on the nearest island Solombala.

Arkhangelsk is the administrative center of the Arkhangelsk region, a big scientific and industrial center of the north-western Russia, a land rich in natural resources: timber, fish and economic minerals: there are deposits of diamonds, bauxite and oil.

The climate of the city is subarctic with long winters and cool summers.

Historical dates:

1694 - The first trade ship, built in Arkhangelsk, “St. Pavel” was launched.

On June 25-26, 1701 - The Novodvinskaya Fortress sustained its first battle against a Swedish squadron on June 25. This was Russia's first victory over the Swedes.

1807 – 1813 - the period of Napoleonic Wars. Arkhangelsk had an economical rise, because it was the sole port in Russia at that time through which colonial produce could be imported.

1932 - the icebreaker Alexander Sibiryakov sailed from Arkhangelsk and made the first-ever passage of the Northern sea route from the White to the Bering Sea.

The main principle of our work is quality and reliability of cargo forwarding.
