Cherepovets is the largest city of the Vologda Region and the administrative centre of the Cherepovets Region. Cherepovets is located on the Sheksne River, the left confluent of the Volga River, on the mouth of the Yagorba River. In the 10th century a number of permanent settlements of a Finno-Ugric tribe called ‘Ves’ appeared on the mouth of the Yagorba River.

In the early 11th century many Slavic people escaping from the raids of the Tatar-Mongolians came to live here. By the beginning of the 12th century a Russian settlement appeared. At that time it got its historic name of Cherepoves’.

A very important stage in the medieval history is associated with the Cherepovetsky Resurrection monastery. Following to its foundation in 1350s-1360s, a large trade village called Fedosievo and a monastery settlement were built. In 1764 the monastery was abolished by a decree of Catherine II, the churches became parish, the lands and serfs were given to the state.

In 1777 by the Decree of the Empress the Cherepovets city was established on the place of the Fedosievo village and the monastery settlement, in order to ‘simplify waterway activities’. In 1905 a railway crossed the city and later a railway terminal was built.

Since the latter half of the 20th century a streak of rapid economic growth started in Cherepovets. It was contributed to by its geographic location at a junction of waterways and railway lines.
Nowadays Cherepovets is a large industrial and cultural centre of the north-western part of Russia. There are three river ports, a railway terminal and two airports in Cherepovets.

Historical dates:

In 1362 the Cherepovetsky Resurrection monastery was founded. It is a landmark of the Medieval Russian architecture.

In 1777 the Cherepovets city was established.

In 1810 the Mariinskaya water system was put into operation in Cherepovets.

In 1905 a railway terminal was built in Cherepovets.

In 1964 the Volga-Baltic Route appeared.

The main principle of our work is quality and reliability of cargo forwarding.
