The first documentary records on Astrakhan town date back to the 13th century, when Astrakhan village appeared among Tartar settlements on the right bank of the Volga river, at the distance of 12 km from the modern Astrakhan city. Over centuries the Khazars, the Polovtsians and the Tatar-Mongolians founded their towns here. Itill, the capital city of the Khazar kaganate destroyed by prince Sviatoslav in 965, was situated near present-day Astrakhan.

Astrakhan was the centre for transit trade in textiles and silk with the Orient. Fur, leather and other goods were imported from Kazan and Russian lands; slaves were brought from Kazan, the Crimea and the Nogay Horde.
In the 16th century the Astrakhan khanate expanded relations with Russia and they signed a treaty of alliance. They were united in 1557. By the middle of the 17th century Astrakhan became one of the border forts of Russia, protecting the entry of the Volga river. Astrakhan was declared the centre of the Astrakhan Province in 1717. Later a strong fleet, the Admiralty, dockyards and a port were built here.

In 1817 Astrakhan Cossack troops were formed by the Cossacks from Nizhneye Povolzhie who had been guardians since Astrakhan annexation to Russia. In 1860 the development of oil industry in Baku made the port of Astrakhan one of the largest in the country.

Historical dates:
In 1395 Astrakhan was burned down by Tamerlan troops.

In 1459-1556 Astrakhan was the centre of the Astrakhan khanate, which appeared as a result of the decay of the Golden Horde.

On August 1, 1552 Astrakhan was conquered by Ivan (IV) the Terrible and was annexed to Russia.
In 1670 Astrakhan was conquered by troops of Stepan Razin.
In 1722 Peter (I) the Great founded a port in Astrakhan.

The main principle of our work is quality and reliability of cargo forwarding.
